Writing Assignment
Who brought you into this world? Easy question: your parents. Write a paper about your mother and father—or one of your parents if they are living apart. Interview them. Takes notes. Ask them all the obvious questions: where they grew up, where they went to school, what were their parents like. And then get to questions that might not be so obvious. Ask them about their politics. Ask them about their fears and worries. Ask if they have any regrets. Ask for their opinion about Wilson High. Ask them what was easier and hardest about raising you. Ask them how they deal with conflicts in their life.
Ask how they deal with hard times. Ask for their definition of love.
If you prefer not to write a bout your parents, interview someone in this class and write a paper about them. Ask plenty of questions--like the ones above. Get strong answers. And if you don’t get strong answers, keep asking harder questions. Don’t give up.
Length of paper: 700 words.
For seniors, the paper is due May 27.
For sophomores and juniors, the paper is due June 4.
Grade deduction for late papers.
