Writing Assignment (otherwise known as EGO: Excellent Growth Occasion)

Let’s do a research paper, 700 words--and let’s hope they will be well-chosen and well-crafted words that are free of clichés, lazy language or untethered thoughts.

Research what? The most important reality in your world, your own life. Take an objective look at yourself. What do you stand for, and why? What have you overcome in your life? How do you deal with conflicts? What have been your failures? How do you think other people see you? Where do you see yourself in 15 years? Thirty years?

When it comes to social issues, which one or ones, if any, do you care the most about?

Everyone’s life is an ongoing story. Telling yours is what this paper is about.

Papers should be typed or computer printed. Papers that are creative and laced with graceful prose earn A’s. Papers that are fairly well-written but lack that extra sparkle earn B’s. Papers that are average and use ordinary language earn C’s. Papers that show little sign of brain activity earn D’s. Papers that give the teacher a migraine headache or otherwise ruin his day earn F’s.

Due date: Tuesday, November 5, 2013

Grade deduction for late papers. No papers accepted after Thursday November 7
