Time: Arrive at 9:30 am

Site: Father McKenna Center

North Capitol and I (Eye) Street

NW, Washington DC

Directions: Red Line to Union Station. On leaving, go to the right on Massachusetts Ave.,

one block to North Capitol Street. Turn right and walk about four blocks to the Father McKenna, which is on the left and in the basement of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. A football field is also on the left. Enter the center on one of two side doors.

If you get lost, ask someone for directions to St. Aloysius Church. Or ask for Gonzaga High School which is next to the church.

Purpose: To listen to Joseph Brown, a former death row prisoner in Florida, discuss the death penalty and what it’s like to be caged in a tiny cell for crime he did not commit.

The talk and discussion should last to 11:30 am.

At 12 noon to 1:15, we are due at Georgetown University Law School (three blocks away) for a talk by Professor Philip Schrag on immigration and asylum issues.
